CNN -- Ilija Bozoljac and Nenad Zimonjic won a thrilling four-set doubles match to edge holders Serbia 2-1 ahead in their Davis Cup World Group first round tie against India in Belgrade Saturday.
Missing Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic, Serbia have been made to struggle against the Indians, who shared the opening singles as Somdev Devvarman beat Janko Tipsarevic.
Bozoljac and Zimonjic eventually saw off Rohan Bopanna and Devvarman 4-6 6-3 6-4 7-6 for a vital win.
The Indian pair led 4-1 in the fourth set and looked set to force a decider until the Serbs broke back to ensure it went to a lengthy tiebreaker.
At 10-all Bozoljac produced the winning shot as the home pair gained a winning mini-break and he sealed the victory with a backhand volley.
